• ABC Analysis or the 80/20 rule
• Determining product handling groups
• Throughputs and product formats

Health and Safety

• Duty of care
• Inspections and risk assessments-task analysis
• Equipment maintenance and care
• Raising people's awareness

Security and Loss

• Minimizing internal theft
• Minimizing external theft
• Preventative measures will be briefly discussed

Productivity and Costs

• Fixed and variable costs
• Typical costs involved
• A model for understanding the roles of productivity, utilisation, and performance
• Setting productivity and cost targets
• The importance of having measurements and key indications of performance

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The training methodology combines lectures, discussions, group exercises and illustrations. Participants will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of the topics. The emphasis is on the practical application of the topics and as a result participant will go back to the workplace with both the ability and the confidence to apply the techniques learned to their duties.
