The Disaster, Crisis and Intervention specialization provides in-depth information about the theory and strategies that need to be implemented to meet the basic needs of a community in an emergency situation. Learn how to assist victims and support their caregivers after the initial crisis has passed. Study the skills and practices specific to crisis counselling, including theories of crisis intervention and ways of working with different populations.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The training methodology combines lectures, discussions, group exercises and illustrations. Participants will gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of the topics. The emphasis is on the practical application of the topics and as a result participant will go back to the workplace with both the ability and the confidence to apply the techniques learned to their duties.
